A famous kitchen chef once rang me and said (over the phone) “I have a client with me here who is asking me about the best personal blender to get. She is asking me about NutriBullet. I think she is looking at about four models.”
“You have the experience,” I said, “Why don’t you just tell her?”
“Oh no,” she said, “I don’t work with personal blenders. She wants something she could use on the go with the quick ease of use and smooth, consistent results in smoothies and all that.”
“This is what you would do,” I said at last, “Give her a good seat, a cup of your most excellent blended juices, and your WiFi password. Then give her the link to this post which I would give you because lucky for you, we have just concluded our tests on all four models of the NutriBullet blenders out there. This is a detailed comparison and review of the best of all NutriBullet personal blenders versus the NutriBullet Pro 900.
Over the years, the company that makes the NutriBullet personal blenders have designed more than the two we used to know and they are all making waves. So when they ask you to get a personal blender, and you hear that NutriBullet is the best personal blender you may get in the market, you may begin to wonder which of the four most popular NutriBullet blenders is the best for you? For the sake of our testing, we got the NutriBullet NBR-1201, NutriBullet Rx, NutriBullet Pro, and the NutriBullet Balance. We used the NutriBullet Pro 900 as the champion and pitched each one against it to see which would come out better.
Since the NutriBullet Pro is not a commercial blender, it could not take so much pressure. Hence, we have to give it very long breaks between blends. This is why we took a while to get this article done — apologies to you all who have been expecting us a little earlier. Now let’s get inside.
NutriBullet Pro VS NutriBullet
The NutriBullet 600 is the first of the NutriBullet series and so the eldest (if that’s a thing). However, when NutriBullet Pro came in, it came out as outstanding and a professional personal bullet blender.
#1 – Overview
- The Nutribullet is the fastest, easiest solution for making nutrient- packed smoothies. Load it up with your favorite whole foods like nuts, berries and spinach, then push, twist and blend your way to a healthier lifestyle.
- Powerful 600-watt motor and refined nutrient-extraction blades blend whole foods into liquid fuel for your body - in seconds.
This blender is the oldest version of the NutriBullet there is, and so it comes with many beautiful features that make it very relevant in the market. It has 600 watts powered motor, and this gives the lowest noise than all that supersedes it.
Being the shortest and most compact of all four, it can fit into any cabinet or backpack if you are going out on a picnic or a trip. Like the NutriBullet Pro, the original NutriBullet comes with the patent extractor blades and are made of stainless steel (although not very high quality).
NUTRIBULLET PRO 900
- With 900 watts of power, the Pro is faster and stronger than the original, but just as simple to use. Load it up with dense whole foods like nuts, seeds, hard fruits, and kale, then push, twist and blend your way to a healthier lifestyle.
- Optimized 900-watt motor and refined nutrient extraction blades blend The toughest whole foods into nutritious shakes, smoothies, and nut butters.
This one is the most popular model of the NutriBullet and for a good reason. It has 900 watts, and the machine is powerful to make smooth juices and smoothies.
The NutriBullet Pro gives a more improved blending, and I think that is the point of NutriBullet designing it after the NutriBullet 600. Coupled with the same Pro Extractor blade design that is in the older model, the NutriBullet Pro model can mill better because of its higher watt power.
#2 – Blades
Both the NutriBullet and the NutriBullet Pro have the pro Extractor blade design. But the blades that come with the NutriBullet is not strong enough to grind dry ingredients. You have to buy a milling blade set to do this. However, the Pro extractor blade that comes with the NutriBullet pro is strong enough to work both as a milling blade and a juice or smoothie blender.
Both blenders are made with interchangeable parts and components. The blades are not good quality. They can come apart, get rusty, or even break. The washer might loosen out, and the blender would leak.
#3 – Speeds
Both NutriBullet 600 and NutriBullet Pro 900 have only one pulse setting which is engaged when you twist and lock the blender cup to the blender base. However, the NutriBullet Pro is more efficient because it is faster and more powerful than the original NutriBullet 600.
#4 – Cups
The NutriBullet unique model comes two cups, and the larger is of 24 oz. The 32 oz jar that comes with the Pro model fits well on the old one without any problem.
Overall Performance NutriBullet VS NutriBullet Pro
As I mentioned, the NutriBullet 600 watt blender is one of the three that has the lowest noise than the other models, yet it offers adequate power for most blending needs. For the money, being much cheaper than the NutriBullet Pro makes up for its less energy in the price.
Because of the 600 watt motor, the NutriBullet cannot go up against the NutriBullet Pro which comes with 900 watts power. The NutriBullet 600 is the lowest in power among all the models of the NutriBullet.
When we blended soft ingredients, we enjoyed the smooth consistency of the NutriBullet 600, which is close to that of the NutriBullet Pro. However, even though we changed the extractor blades on the 600 watts model, it couldn’t grind nuts and hards seeds, as well as the NutriBullet Pro, can. When we blended blackberry seeds, the NutriBullet 600 had a more difficult time doing this job than all others. However, the Pro model came out very smoothly.
If you are a lover of tasty smoothies and you don’t have a big family you intend to serve, you can make this blender your one stop machine for the quick blending of juices or even protein shakes. If you like something more extreme, you should buy the Pro version, which is costlier.
NutriBullet Pro VS NutriBullet Rx
We have seen more specifics of the Pro 900 blender, now let us consider the components of the Rx blender.
The NutriBullet Rx is the largest of the NutriBullet and significantly the most powerful. With a watt power of 1700 watts, this blender is one of the best line ups from NutriBullet. And what’s more? The other difference between the Rx blender and the other two we have seen earlier is the blade design. Unlike the 600 and the Pro version that comes with Pro Extractor blades, the Rx comes with another kind of blade design that is stiffer and sharper than the former too.
Because of the high watt power, the Rx can blend hot soups, unlike the other NutriBullets. So many people don’t like the Rx blender because it is not made as to the other bullet blenders. The other NutriBullet mixers are made in such a way that you can carry their cups around (even though many experts assert that it may not be healthy to leave your drinks in the cups because they are not of good quality). The cups of the Rx does not have a screw on lids like the others.
The difference in the performance of the three blenders still is more. The Rx allows seeds to escape. Unlike the Pro version that can extract all the ingredients both from the bottom and the top. However, the blades on the Rx are designed to face up and thereby leaving space between the blades and the wall of the cup. Our blackberry seeds smoothies were not as smooth as we expected from a good blender. Thus, even the Rx is not as good as the NutriBullet Pro also though it has a 1700 watts power. The constraint is in the blade design. One would have overlooked this little mistake if, like the Pro and the 600 version (which are interchangeable) can be changed.
NutriBullet Pro VS NutriBullet Balance
The beauty in the new blender added to the NutriBullet line is the NutriBullet Balance. It is the smartest blender among them being that it works with your phone to automatically help you to make great smoothies or whatever recipes you choose with the app on your phone.
The best part of this blender is the smart app that works on your phone to walk you through the amount of each recipe to add to the blender cup and notify you when they are too much or too small.
Aside from that, the blender is smart and can count your calories, and it gives a very smooth blend when it comes to smoothies. The blades are a little like the blades of the Rx, but they are more knife-like, more extended and sharper. This makes the NutriBullet Balance a good option.
If you are too lazy to start measuring out the calories of the recipes you want to blend, why not get a blender that does that for you?
Comparison of All NutriBullet
The 600 blenders are still selling well because of its compactness and amazing features.
The 600-watt power is enough to blend fruits and vegetables and even frozen ingredients to a consistent, smooth drink also though it takes a little watering down and much time to get the best out of it. This blender won’t crush ice or make anything more than smoothies.
Many people who spend more time at the gym or work and love to enjoy healthy smoothies choose the original NutriBullet 600.
NUTRIBULLET PRO 900
The Nutribullet Pro is a little bigger than the 600 models and comes with 900 watts as opposed to the 600 watts that the original NutriBullet has. The cups are also slightly larger.
The blades of both blenders have the same design, and thus when propelled by the same amount of energy, the results come close. However, the Pro Version does a smoothie work much faster than the original.
If you want to do more than just smoothies, and you want something that can offer you more power in case of emergencies, choose the Pro version of NutriBullet.
The NutriBullet Rx is a more aesthetic blender among the first three. Even though it is the most powerful blender, and it offers more exclusive features like the presence of a new preset button, the Rx doesn’t do justice to small seeds.
The Rx comes with 1700 watts motor, and that kind of power would remind one of Vitamix, and it also comes with the largest cups at 45 ounces.
The one of a kind feature that stands the Rx out among the crowd (because three’s a crowd) is the SoupBlaster pitcher that allows you to make a hot soup! So that is one of the best things about the Rx, and it does that well at the expense of proper smoothie blending.
Additionally, unlike the NutriBullet Pro, the Rx version has the one preset button so that you can leave the blender to make your soup automatically.
The NutriBullet Balance is the most fabulous NutriBullet blender because of the Bluetooth SMART technology. It is a built-in scale that will measure your ingredients, count your calories in real time so that you can track your calorie intake. The app is free and works on any device.
It comes with a 1200-watt motor, and the blades are very sharp and stiff so that they can blend anything from kale, cacao nibs, flax seeds, and ginger.
If you a smartphone geeky and you want a blender that does the most work for you as a busy person, get the Balance blender and take your health and nutrition goals to the next level.
We hope we answer your question as to what nutriBullet Blender you should buy. We don’t know your needs, and so we would not steal your right to choose. Go back and look at the specifications of each blender and make the right choice for yourself. Remember to tell us about whichever you prefer.
