Best TV headphones

Watching your favorite TV show with the sound directly in your ears is bliss. Good Wireless Headphones For TVs is the most relaxing way I have found to enjoy my favorite TV show, Young Sheldon without external disturbance or noise. You cannot know how lovely it is to live in and feel the scenes and hear all the background muse as they play out directly from the TV if you don’t use a good TV headset. However, getting the perfect one that would work for your TV might be very tricky. I had to test up to 10 different Headphones For TVs.

Now though, to save you from that kind of a hassle, I made this post. You don’t want to get something that is uncomfortable, or that doesn’t have a wide connection range. You want to get something that will make you happy with the show as well as the sound. In this post, we will see the best wireless TV headphones.

After several heartbreaks and disappointments, I can happily and confidently recommend Sennheiser RS 165 wireless headphone (click here to see it on Amazon) as the best one available in the market for now. It is the easiest to use, connect and the best thing is that it sounds way better than all of the others combined with perfect audio-video sync.

Now, let’s talk about each TV headphone and what is good about them.

As mentioned earlier, all of these have something good about them. According to my unbiased research, a good TV headset must be equipped with RF (Radio Frequency) technology (in varying ranges from 900 MHz to 3.2 GHz) and would be able to combine a transmitter, which you plug into your TV or AV receiver, with one or the two included pairs of headphones.

Based on my testing and interviews with experts and other review gurus (after I have bought all 8! I know I should have researched before buying, but all is fair in love…), good wireless TV headsets must have the following:

  • No latency. Some of the headphones I got made me very angry because there was a significant gap between the images and the audio. Needless to say, a good one should not delay the audio.
  • Great sound quality. I don’t have to stress the importance of getting Wireless Headphones For TVs with a good output. No one that muffles the sounds. Yuck!
  • Ease of use. I mean if the headset takes a lot of time and works to connect to your TV, forget it. These headsets are easy to add to your TV set or home theater system.
  • Battery life. You know what I’m saying. A good TV headset must have long battery life. At least as long as your attention span on a few episodes or series.
  • Comfortability. Some headphones can make your ears hurt. I checked that.

So now with these criteria, I got a few suggestions from gurus and I looked at the ones I have got using a variety of TV shows and music in my apartment, I sorted out the best ones.

Best Wireless Headphones For TVs Are:

  1. Sennheiser RS 165: Good sound And Cheap

Sennheiser RS 165

If I or any of my friends would be buying any more headphones this year, the Sennheiser RS 165 is the only one that I would consider buying.

The output of these headsets is the best. They bring out all the dialogues, effects, and background soundtracks more clearly than any other Wireless Headphones For TVs we tested and I couldn’t notice any latency.

Also, the Sennheiser RS 165 is lightweight and comfortable on the ears. Charging them is easy and setting them up with the TV is even easiest of all. The battery life is also perfect. It lasts up to 18 hours after a full charge.

Another beautiful thing about the Sennheiser RS 165 is the sound quality. The movie dialogue is clear and that made it easy to understand, and Sennheiser RS 165 gives a decent separation in the left- and right channel. We observed that the sounds in the movie we watched that are high in volume seemed to be boosted, which made the low subtle background sounds and effects come out more than expected. We also agreed that although the bass output was a bit forward, generally the sound was smooth and defined, as long as you turn off bass-boost feature.

Setting the Sennheiser RS 165 system to a TV set or home theater system is simple. The Sennheiser RS 165 comes with a transmitter hub with a single 3.5 mm audio input. It has a power brick with four adapters, a 3.5 mm audio cable, and rechargeable batteries for the headphones. If your TV set already has a 3.5 mm audio output, that’s all you need to use the Sennheiser RS 165. However, older TV sets that only have an AV receiver might need the RCA adapter to connect.

The design of the Sennheiser RS165 makes it comfortable to wear for long hours because they are not heavy and the headband is adjustable so that they don’t feel too tight for you.

You can use the Sennheiser RS 165  and walk away up to 30 m from your TV and still stay connected. Yes, it is that incredible.

  1. SteelSeries Arctis 7: Rugged and great Sound

SteelSeries Arctis 7 (2019 Edition)

If you like something simple that gets the work done with no stress, then pick SteelSeries Arctis 7 Wireless and go. The latency is relatively low compared to the others but it is not as low compared to our top pick.

Even so, the SteelSeries Arctis 7 is a big brand as a gaming headphone and so it is also a preferred choice when talking of good Headphones For TVs.

The SteelSeries Arctis 7 headphones have an excellent sound as closed-back headphones. The bass output is powerful with a balanced midrange but the bass feels somehow jumpy and the treble might sometimes feel like shouting.

They are not easy to set up like our favorite because they don’t come with a base transmitter. You would only find it with a USB dongle and a TRRS audio cable which is good for connecting to laptops and PS4 game box. Hence, you might have to get an adapter to connect. The USB to AV input adapter is relatively cheap and you can see it on Amazon. Once you get the adapter, you connect the transmitter and you’re on!

The battery is another big selling point for these headsets. They can last up to 25 hours straight between 3-hour charges. The SteelSeries Arctis 7 has a range of about 12 m, i.e 40 ft.

The SteelSeries Arctis 7 2019 edition is comfortable with more padding on the earcups, which makes them deeper. If you think you have big ears, you might like to get these beautiful headsets. However, if your head is big, the Arctis 7 might feel too tight on you because it is not really adjustable as it has shorter strap limits. Even then, people with round heads will find it very comfortable and the soft foam padding is porous so that it allows easy airflow and that really feels nice on the skin.

  1. Sony MDRRF995RK: Good Battery Best Sound

Sony MDRRF995RK

If you enjoy watching TV in your apartment or room with full concentration, get these Sony MDRRF995RK Wireless RF headsets. These headsets represent Sony well because I respect the sound output from anything Sony. The sound quality of the Sony MDRRF995RK Wireless RF is excellent.

However, what I don’t like is what the company calls “line of sight”. I mean the range of connection to the TV is around 150 ft but this connection will just snap once you have a wall between you and the transmitter. Which means that you have no freedom to move around while using these headphones away from the TV. You would enjoy excellent reception only if you’re in the room you’re watching from. Once you get out, you start to hear the noise.

The battery life is very good at 20 hours and it is very easy to charge. You just place it on the base and it comes on.

The Sony MDRRF995RK TV Headphones are lightweight and they are simply comfortable to use because of the oval earcups that sit around your ears. The comfort level is very excellent. You can swivel the earcups forward if you want them to hug your ears which is a super cool feature. We agreed that the material used is not going to wear easily no matter how frequent you use the headsets. The Sony MDRRF995RK has a stylish design.

The Sony MDRRF995RK comes with a 3.5mm output port and another cable which is the power point. It, however, doesn’t have an optical unit to work with new TVs. This means that you might have to get some extra cables to install or set this headset up with a newer TV, depending on the output you prefer. The transmitter comes with one ⅛ inch audio input. If your TV only has an RCA out, then you might need to buy an RCA to ⅛ inch separately to connect these headsets to your TV.

Nonetheless, the Sony MDRRF995RK RK Wireless Headphones For TVs is the perfect value for its price. You get great audio reception and sweet comfort. If you are on a budget, nothing can do better than Sony MDRRF995RK.

Aventree ht4189 wireless headphones

For those who love watching TV with a good sounding headphone that can be used otherwise, the answer to your dream is the Avantree HT4189. These headsets are so good that they can work perfectly for both your TV and as a Bluetooth device. The Avantree HT4189 Headphones For TVs comes with a transmitter that works at a range of 100ft.

The transmitter is easy to set up. It comes with a â…› inch AUX and an optical input so that you can connect it whatever TV set you have.

The Avantree HT4189 headphones have a built-in battery which incredibly lasts up to 40 hours after a full charge.

The Avantree HT4189 Wireless Headphones For TVs have pretty large earcups that sit comfortably over your ears. The Avantree’s headband is designed with soft memory foam and a quality PU leather. We agree with how much comfort it gives even for long periods.

The sound of the Avantree is decent. Although it is not the best sounding headset on this list, it is still good enough to enjoy movies and TV shows. We observe that they only lack the kind of bass you might expect from a headphone. But at the price, insofar you are not buying any more connecting cables and you get the ease of connection and use, you get exceptional value. It is affordable, comfortable and easy to use. For that price, there is no better headphone.

mpow 059 headphones

If you are looking for affordable headphones that have many outstanding features, go ahead, buy two pairs. You may have friends. These Mpow 059 headsets are awesome. The set up is pretty easy and simple to do. Make sure to buy the Mpow 059 that comes with a transmitter so that you can easily connect it to your TV.

During our testing, the Mpow 059 was surprisingly comfortable and with quality materials than what we expected from a headset that cheap. The sound is great and it has very significantly low but noticeable latency.

The transmitter is very easy to set up with a 3.5mm audio port and USB cables. It can connect to any device, including radios. Additionally, you get coverage of 30m or 100ft, which means more freedom of movement.

I mean if you don’t want to spend more than your budget and you love a system that comes with two pairs (perfect for couples), consider buying Power Acoustik HP 902 RFT.
